Ornament in Architecture
Book Design and Digital Experience
A conceptual book and website that explores the process of collecting, analyzing, and transforming real-world objects into a cohesive design narrative across multiple medium.

The project began with the documentation of 50 unique instances of a architecture ornamentation found throughout New York City, referred to as a "seed collection. From this physical collection, I designed a book and a digital experience that explored the concept of ornamentation in graphic design in the realm of physical and digital space.

Modern architecture lacks the ornamental elements that existed and were prioritized past styles of architecture. In the digital experience I experimented with the loss of ornamentation through typeface. As you navigate through the site, there are words within the text that are set in a different font. Once clicked, the rest of the text changes font. As you progress throughout the site, the font becomes less and less ornamental.
